The Gaia Sanctuary near Swellendam offers Off grid camping alongside the Breede River where you will wake up to bird song and the sound of the river flowing, watch the most spectacular sunsets, connect with nature and recharge your batteries...

We invite you to come visit our little slice of Sanctuary, our very own heaven on earth, for a completely back to mother earth experience, to leave your hectic city life behind and to come re-ground yourself and reconnect to nature and yourself, on our working farm.

The Gaia Sanctuary is for nature lovers, and Eco warriors, set along the river, with breathtaking views of the Langeberg Mountain Range... Perfect for romantic weekends away or family getaways at our campsite.

We will offer a wide array of healing retreats & workshops from yoga, Pilates, breathwork, meditations, cocoa ceremonies, crystal healing, energy healing, and plant medicines.

Healing Retreats are set outdoors in nature, with the river flowing past and sounds of nature ... we also host retreats set in our Milkwood forest.

Off Grid Camping

We offer a VW campervan which sleeps two, and off grid campsites.

A-Frame Cabin

Unique and bespoke 4 Sleeper A-frame cabin, with a Queen bed on the mezzanine level, and sleeps two on ground level on couches which function as sleeper couches.

The side roof panels open onto a patio decking with beautiful River views of the Breede river.

Facilities:

• Campsite deck with kitchen facilities, gas cooker, gas kettle
• Ablution block
• Firepit with braai area alongside the river

We are entirely Off-grid, so there are no power or plug points - please ensure you bring your cell phone battery packs. In summer, please do bring Mozzie & fly repellent.

Weddings & Events at The Gaia Sanctuary

Book our beautiful space alongside the Breede River or in the Milkwood forest, whether for a special occasion, boutique wedding, ceremonies, birthday party, or team building.

Day venue hire you get access to the campsite deck, braai area and fit pit facilities, and river, however if we  have campers booked, one would need to be mindful of that.

We offer a unique, boutique wedding experience in an abundantly beautiful, natural setting, alongside the Breede river with breathtaking views of the Langeberg mountain range. If you are looking for something a little bit different, closer to nature, and more authentic, then we are sure you will love it at The Gaia Sanctuary.

We have a few unique spots for your ceremony; choose from our Milkwood forest or river banks. Our venue can host a maximum of 50 guests.

The Wedding couple can stay overnight in our gorgeous A-frame cabin with a river view. Included in the venue fee is the A frame and campsite deck, 6 campsites, milkwood forest, alter, venue, firepit & braai area, tables & benches, canoe and silent generator.
